United by Nature: Bianca’s Journey

Bianca is a certified Pilates Instructor with international recognition and a Clinical Naturopath whose passion for movement began in childhood. She first discovered the joy of dance and Pilates through classes with her mother, learning early on that movement could be both a form of self-expression and a pathway to healing. Today, she teaches, leads wellness retreats, and instructs, weaving together her knowledge of movement, naturopathy, and women’s health to empower and uplift others.

Raised in an Italian household where homegrown produce, herbal remedies, and the healing power of food were part of everyday life, Bianca continues to draw inspiration from nature both personally and professionally.

What’s your favourite thing to do in nature?

Sunrise walks and swimming in the ocean have to be two of my favourite things to do in nature. I've been lucky enough to grow up with the beach as my backyard. There is something so powerful and refreshing about going for a dip in the ocean. Its both grounding and energizing and I always return feeling clearer, calmer, lighter and more connected.

How does spending time in nature influence your mental health? Can you think of a specific experience where this effect was particularly strong?

Spending time in nature is one of the most accessible and effective ways to regulate our nervous system. When we’re outdoors away from digital noise and overstimulation, we naturally shift into a parasympathetic state, which is the “rest and digest” mode. Nature offers a multi-sensory experience that grounds us: the feeling of fresh air and sunlight on your face, the earth underfoot, the sound of wind or birdsong, and the expansive visual field of sky or trees all contribute to a deeper sense of presence. We know scientifically that being in a green space has a huge impact on regulating our nervous system and decreasing our stress hormone, cortisol. I often say it’s the most powerful form of nervous system nourishment. For me, this connection is strongest living close to the ocean. I love going for early morning sunrise walks and experiencing that still, serene time of day that feels full of possibility, like time has stood still for a moment. Those walks are a reminder that nature doesn’t just calm the mind, it expands it.

How do you bring nature into your home?

I love filling my home with indoor plants, fresh herbs in the kitchen, and natural textures like linen and wood. I also open windows daily to let fresh air in, burn essential oils like eucalyptus or lavender, and use soft, natural light in the evenings. It creates a calm, restorative environment that mirrors how I want to feel.

Is there an animal or plant that you’ve always felt particularly drawn to,and can you explain why?

I’ve always felt deeply drawn to whales. I often spot them in the ocean, and for me, they symbolise wisdom, deep emotional connection, and trust in life’s journey. There’s something about their calm power and graceful presence that feels like a reminder to slow down, listen inwards, and move with purpose.

What is your favourite natural scent, and why?

Eucalyptus....without a doubt. I always have a fresh bunch in a vase at home; the scent fills the space with a clean, grounding freshness that instantly makes me feel calm. I also love that my favourite Koala products have eucalyptus in them, it’s a scent that feels both invigorating and soothing. It feels quintessentially Australian.
