The Design of our Scent Formulations

The Design of our Scent Formulations

Using Australian essential oils.
When we design a scent, we begin with intention: what do we hope someone will feel in the moment they use this product? We think of this formulation almost as a therapeutic intervention.
For example, peppermint and eucalyptus can sharpen focus and enliven the senses, while rosalina or frankincense can help the nervous system downshift into calm. We then layer these oils, balancing their functional antibacterial and cleansing properties with their emotional resonance. In this way, formulation becomes both a scientific and psychological exercise. We want each scent to feel like an invitation: to pause, to breathe, and to reconnect.
Essential oils are powerful: they carry the concentrated chemistry of plants. That power is what makes them effective, but it also demands respect.
At Koala Eco, we carefully calibrate every formulation to ensure the oils are present in concentrations that are safe for everyday use, including for children and pets. We also refuse synthetic fragrances, which are often linked with potential toxicological concerns and lack of transparency.
Using pure botanical essential oils allows us to preserve the wellbeing benefits of scent—supporting both the body and mind—without unnecessary risk.
