The story behind our new Dishwasher Powder

The story behind our new Dishwasher Powder

Was there a bit of self-interest in the story behind our new Natural Dishwasher Powder? Well … yes, maybe!

We decided it was high time to see if Koala Eco could cater to one appliance we hadn’t covered yet—and, we admit, also the Bragdon-Davidson household needed—with dishwashers!

And it was a fascinating process to develop this latest addition to our range. A lot of thought, research, trial and testing go into delivering every Koala Eco product. Our new Natural Dishwasher Powder was no exception.

We already know that the essential oils from Lemon Myrtle (Backhousia citriodora) and Mandarin (Citrus reticulata) are two of nature’s most effective disinfectants, and these are ingredients we often come back to for our products, as they’re simply so effective at banishing germs.

As this is the first powder we’ve created, we’ve worked hard with our lab chemists to arrive at the formulation that will still deliver the Koala Eco promise of a powerful yet safe, non-toxic and planet-friendly result. It was important to take the time to achieve the right concentration of the essential oils, and balance them with the natural minerals and enzymes necessary to break down proteins and prevent hard water scale.

As always, we’ve sourced our essential oils from local suppliers.

With its rich, creamy citrus smell and powerful antibacterial properties, Lemon Myrtle is often considered the queen of the lemon herbs, while the scent of Mandarin is able to soothe as well as uplift the mood.

Which is just as well when you realise it’s YOUR turn to unload the dishwasher!
