Celebrating a magnificent eight!

Celebrating a magnificent eight!

Koala Eco achieves another milestone

Every February, we celebrate another chapter in Koala Eco’s story. Incredibly, 2025 marks our eighth birthday, and it’s a chance to look back on some of the wins, big and small, along the way…

2017 … when it all began

We launch Koala Eco in Sydney with just five products: the Multipurpose Kitchen and Bathroom Cleaners, Dish Soap, and our Stainless and Glass remedies. Each sale triggers a contribution to conservation organisation One Per Cent for the Planet, an arrangement we maintain to this day.

2018 … online and on shelves!

Our range grows with our natural Fruit and Veg Wash, Floor Cleaner and Room Spray, plus organic bamboo cloths and scrubbing brushes. We achieve a real breakthrough in Asia, retailing our products in Hong Kong, Korea and Taiwan. In Australia, we also begin supplying Koala Eco to local stores and groceries.

2019 … Koala Eco switches to rPET

We switch to 100% recycled and recyclable (rPET) bottles for all our products, so Koala Eco is not responsible for any new plastic bottles being made. Glass, refills and concentrates also available.

2020 … the COVID experience...

Sorry for the reminder! We launch a Hand and Surface Sanitiser with Rosalina & Peppermint. Moving swiftly on…

2021 … growth and the healing power of nature

We welcome team members based in the US, The Philippines, and South America as well as growing our Sydney HQ. We start asking them to make intentional time during paid work hours each week for some activity in nature.

We also start interviewing well-known people we believe genuinely live and breathe a nature-focused lifestyle to get their take on how best to connect with the outdoors, and how to bring the health benefits of the outdoors inside for our ‘Hour in Nature’ initiative.

2022 … we can never have enough of nature …

More nature, feel better: the core purpose of our brand. Why do we make products using 100% pure essential oils? To encourage people’s care of themselves through loving and being curious about nature, every day. To underline our commitment to this purpose, we become Principal Sponsor of People & Parks Foundation #NaturePact initiative, which encourages people to commit to spending intentional time in nature every day for a month in order to reap the transformative benefits.

We start to set up Koala Eco’s USA  operations and are rewarded with special mentions of our products by the folks at goop and Oprah’s O Magazine!

2023 … truly transcontinental

Roll of drums: official Koala Eco brand launch in the US, and the beginning of our partnership with the Oceanic Society by sponsoring their Critter Scholars Program. This fabulous program takes kids and teens from disadvantaged communities on boat trips to learn about marine life and conservation.  Our first stockist is EreWhon and we grow quickly now in over 2000 US stores. We add more products to our range like Stain Spray and Oxygenated Bleach and our Dog Wash with Sweet Marjoram and Rosalina.

2024 … a big year, that was!

Where do we start? We launch our Laundry Wash range in the US, and our Dishwasher Powder with Lemon Myrtle and Mandarin in Australia.

Koala Eco wins Gold in the social impact category of the Clean + Conscious Awards, while our Laundry Stain Spray takes Gold in the home products category. Continuing on this golden theme, we publish our 50th inspiring ‘Hour in Nature’ story.

Since our Critter Scholars partnership started, we’ve made it possible for 326 kids to go out on boat trips.

We give 50% of our Boxing Day sales proceeds to Sydney-based ReLove, an amazing non-profit organisation which helps people impacted by domestic violence or homelessness or seeking asylum to set up a home with donated furniture and white goods.

And through our use of rPET and glass bottles, we've prevented 5.5 million new plastic bottles being made.
