Beautifully Clean with our Spring Cleaning Checklist

Beautifully Clean with our Spring Cleaning Checklist

If you'd like to discover how to thoroughly clean every part of your home this Spring, while at the same time turning the seemingly onerous chores into uplifting and enjoyable Spring rituals, our tips are below or simply download our free guide here.

WALLS, CEILINGS, WINDOWS

It’s great to start at the top. Removing dust and cobwebs from higher parts of each room will help your overall cleaning efficiency by not having to clean the lower surfaces twice!

Getting accumulated dust off the ceiling and extractor fans is also a good job to get done at this time of year.

Dusting the top of all your hanging picture frames, as well as the top of large appliances such as refrigerators and washing machines.

Clean your windows inside and out with Natural Glass Cleaner. If extra grubby on the outside, you can wash them first with Natural Dish Soap, warm water and a thick sponge, followed by Natural Glass Cleaner and a Bamboo Cloth.

Take note of the invigorating peppermint essential oil as you buff up your windows as well as your spirits.

BEDROOMS

Bedrooms are often the biggest dust collectors due to the high volume of fabrics, soft furnishings and often carpet. If these items can be washed (or even aired outside) it will
help remove some of the loose particles and dust. Use our Natural Laundry Wash to infuse the lasting scents of Lemon Scented Eucalyptus and Rosemary essential oils.

Meanwhile, it’s time to clean under the bed as this is also a hidden source of dust collection and stray items.

After all beds are remade and soft furnishings are replaced, spritz the room with our Natural Pillow and Linen Spray to make the freshness last longer. Let the healing scent of Eucalyptus, Rosemary and Peppermint help to relax and replenish you.

Clearing out some of your wardrobe clutter will make a huge difference to your mood. Start by trying to reduce your wardrobe by 5-10 things, and see if you build the momentum to keep going.

It’s also time to store your knitwear until next Winter. We recommend washing woollen jumpers with our Natural Laundry Wash before folding and storing in a dry cupboard.

KITCHEN

Start with a pantry clear out to remove any out-of-date food, reorganise where needed and wipe down with our Natural Multi-Purpose Kitchen Cleaner, which will sanitise and disperse the freshness of Lemon Myrtle and Mandarin throughout.

Wipe down all other cupboards, inside and out, including knobs and kickboards in order to remove greasy fingerprints and forgotten spatters.

Ovens (don’t panic) can have a little refresh too, even if it isn’t your favourite job. Simply mix some baking powder and Natural Dish Soap together to make a paste to smear over
the over surfaces. After 10 minutes, spritz with white vinegar, then wipe it off with a cloth soaked in warm water and squeezed out before use.

Stove fan plates can either be rinsed or even put in the dishwasher, if your manufacturer’s instructions allow.

BATHROOM

First, get your shower curtains washed and out to dry in the sun, if possible.

Throw out any residual products that you are no longer using or discard all of the empty containers, taking care to recycle what you can.

Wipe down cupboards, inside, outside and on top.

Use our Natural Glass Cleaner on mirrors and shower screens for streak free and crystal clear reflections.

Use our Natural Bathroom Cleaner to wipe down all other surfaces such as baths, toilets, tiles, sinks and vanities, to clean all grime and leave a refreshing Eucalyptus scent.

Use our Oxygenated Bleach for specialised tasks such as cleaning grout and toilets.

FLOORS

Always end with the floors. Make sure they are cleared of any clutter including chairs. Vacuum first where possible then mop with our Natural Floor Cleaner and very warm water for best results.

As you mop, take some deep breaths and enjoy the energising zest of mandarin and peppermint essential oil as it wafts throughout your home.

Finally, give your furry friend a bath with Natural Dog Wash to ensure all your Spring Cleaning doesn’t go to waste with muddy paws on your freshly cleaned floors.
