The Great Dishwasher Debate

The Great Dishwasher Debate

What kind of detergent do you usually put in your dishwasher? Tablets? Pods? Sheets? Powder?

Tablets and pods come with higher costs and potential packaging waste. Often they are wrapped in a film or incorporate some type of non-recyclable materials, contributing to environmental pollution. Moreover, the production process of these tablets often involves chemicals that are harmful to the environment.

Sheets are pre-measured with a set amount of detergent and often come with minimal packaging. However, the claims to be eco-friendly fall short, as they use microplastics in the ingredients and processes that aren't as green as they seem. Performance variability can also be a big issue, leading to less effective cleaning and more frequent use, which isn't great for the planet either.

Powder is best for those who want a cost-effective choice and don’t mind measuring customised doses for each use. Powders often come in recyclable and recycled cartons, like our new 1kg box of Natural Dishwasher Powder, which delivers a unique Koala Eco experience, thanks to the high concentration of Mandarin and Lemon Myrtle essential oil.

And better still, it’s a concentrated formula so this 1kg—and your money—goes further. So if you’re already a powder person, you’re good to go. And if not, perhaps now’s the time to give it a try. Powder not only reduces packaging waste but also offers a more sustainable and effective cleaning solution, making it the eco-friendly choice for your dishwasher.
