Spring Allergies? Here’s How to Stay Comfortable

While spring brings beautiful blooms and warmer weather, it also signals the start of allergy season for many. As the sap rises and tree pollen fills the air, allergy sufferers can struggle for comfort. To help you get through the season, we’ve put together some tips that may ease your symptoms:

Stay indoors during peak pollen times.
Pollen counts tend to be highest in the morning and early evening, especially on windy days.

Use a pollen-count app.
There are apps available to track pollen levels in your area, helping you plan when it’s safest to venture outside.

Consider using HEPA filters.
High-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters can help remove pollen and other allergens from the air in your home, making it a cleaner, safer space.

Wash your bedding regularly.
Pollen can settle on your bedding, so washing sheets and pillowcases frequently can reduce your exposure while you sleep.

Shower and change after outdoor activities.
Pollen clings to clothes and hair, so it’s a good idea to shower and change into clean clothes after spending time outside.

Wear sunglasses and a hat.
When outside, wearing sunglasses and a hat can help protect your eyes and face from pollen.

Avoid drying clothes outside.
Pollen can stick to your laundry when it’s drying outdoors. To keep items pollen-free, during peak pollen times use a rack and hang them indoors.

Avoid synthetic fragrance when you clean.
Many cleaning products claim to be natural, but few are genuinely free from synthetic fragrances. Koala Eco products are made with only essential oils, providing a safe, non-allergenic way to clean your home and wash your clothes. Try our Delicate Laundry Wash with Rosalina essential oil or our Lemon-Scented Eucalyptus and Rosemary Laundry Wash for laundry.

By following these simple tips, you can reduce your exposure to pollen and make spring an even more enjoyable season.
